Why use an adhesive coating?

Compared to other renovation methods, an adhesive coating is easier and faster to apply. It is also more durable and enables you to renovate your furniture rather than throw it away.

What is a self-adhesive coating?

A self-adhesive coating is a vinyl covering that can be applied to walls, furniture or doors. It is the ideal solution for any interior decoration or renovation and perfectly recreates the materials (wood, marble, textile, metallic, glitter, leather, natural stone, solid colour) since most of these adhesive vinyls have a structure.

Why use an adhesive coating rather than paint?

It is a non-invasive solution that does not generate dust or odour. It's faster, easier to maintain and has better resistance. With an adhesive film, the result is more structured and very realistic visually and to the touch. Also, you will not have to close your establishment during the renovation and, of course, with paint, a fresh coat would be necessary after a while; with Cover Styl', its appearance does not change.

Yes, and we also have a certification for the application of our Cover Styl’ adhesive coatings in maritime environments.

How to Order

Simply add as many items as you wish to your shopping cart while browsing our store. Once you want to proceed with the order - do so by going to the cart and clicking "checkout".
Then simply follow the instructions by providing us with delivery information and select payment method the for goods (we accept PayPal, AfterPay, Zip, Apple Pay and all major credit cards).
Once your order has been received it will be placed automatically into our printing queue, we will ship your package within a couple of business days (under normal circumstances, kindly note that sale periods (and Covid restrictions have affected our normal turnaround time may take longer) once it has undergone our final quality checks. If your purchase doesn't pass our final quality check, we will have the artwork reprinted and reframed (if framing was selected), this may incur a slight delay however we want to ensure you receive only the highest quality products from Outdoor Art & Decor and they must pass our strict control standards before they are packaged.

Yes, you can apply an adhesive coating in a hospital and our products have a large laboratory-tested antibacterial capacity.

Calendared PVC may show a small amount of shrinkage over the years (2 to 3 mm), this is why it is recommended to leave an overlap between the strips.

How do you clean an adhesive vinyl?

Accepted Answer

Just use a cloth and water to clean an adhesive vinyl. It is not necessary to use a special product, however, preferably use a solution with a neutral PH.

All frames are made from plantation grown, FSC certified sustainable solid timber in either a matte black, white or oak finish.
Frame Specifications:
A5, A4, A3, A2, 40 x 50cm, 50cm x 70cm and 60cm x 90cm, 70cm x 100cm frames are 20mm frontal frame and 30mm depth of frame.
100x130 frames are thicker to ensure structural integrity of this large format size, their specifications are: 30mm frontal frame and 40mm depth of frame.
The above sizing is in relation to the posters our frames accommodate. You can view final frame sizes, weights and a useful visual guide here. (Link to size guide page)
Please note that only posters 60x90cm and larger are adhesive mounted, as we allow our customers the option of changing smaller unframed art print regularly should they wish to do so.
Glass or Perspex or Acrylic?
We use professional framing acrylic (not glass or perspex). Acrylic is lighter, stronger and clearer than glass, which is far more superior face for Outdoor Art & Decor frames for our worldwide shipping requirements. Acrylic is a reflective surface, however not as reflective as perspex or glass.
Hanging your Outdoor Art & Decor frame
Your frame will come with instructions and hanging kit allowing you to hang your artwork in either portrait or landscape. Please ensure you follow these instructions to ensure artwork is secure.

Question 17

Caring for Framed Art

Hang with caution in any areas where there is a lot of moisture and direct sun-light, art in general doesn’t love these types of conditions. The condensation, humidity and steam from bath tubs, showers and kitchens area can be damaging and causing warping or rippling effects to print/poster inside your frame. It’s better to hang your art in places that have less moisture and more ventilation.
Hanging artwork near a front door also exposes it to a lot of light and fluctuations in humidity. Both of these things can cause warping, fading and rippling to the print.
Whilst all precautionary measures are taken, unfortunately we are unable to predict humidity and other circumstances in our customers homes.
Avoid using any chemicals on acrylic as you may damage the front of your Outdoor Art & Decor frame. Instead, use a soft microfibre lint free cloth to very gently wipe over the face of the frame.

Question 18

Can you apply one coating on top of another?

Certainly, you can easily apply an adhesive coating on top of another. It is of course not recommended to do this for coatings that are too structured like leather, glitter, etc. It is recommended not to apply more than 3 coatings on top of each other.

Packaging of Frames

Framed art is professionally packaged to the best of our ability to avoid any damages on its journey from us to you. Whilst we package our artworks incredibly well, unfortunately at times a product may arrived damaged.
If you receive a damaged artwork, please just contact us and we will happily ship out a replacement.

Can I apply adhesive vinyl myself?

Yes, but we recommend that you take part in our training or contact a professional for optimal results. However, if you want to apply our films by yourself, you can find installation tutorial videos on our YouTube channel.

White Borders

Accepted Answer

Outdoor Art & Decor offers a white border option on most artworks, this border will surround the outside of your chosen design whilst maintaining your selected poster size. We feel it can give artworks a more sophisticated look, however this is absolutely up to your personal preference and style.
Will choosing a white border make the design/photo smaller?
YES, it will make your chosen art design/photo smaller (as shown in the below example). We don't change the size of the poster you order.
Is the white border made of cardboard?
NO, it is an unprinted area surrounding your chosen design. It is part of the poster.
What if I want all my artworks to have the same size white border?
EASY! Just make a note at checkout and our print team can accommodate this for you. This must be selected prior to completing your order.

Still confused? Here's some more detailed information...
Outdoor Art & Decor frames and posters do not come with a matt border insert (a cardboard type additional piece that sits between the acrylic and artwork itself; also known as a passe-partout or mountboard). Instead, we offer this 'white border' option on our product to obtain a similar look, without additional costs.
Adding a white border to your chosen design will not change your selected poster size. It will simply add a white border around the outside of your chosen design, whilst maintaining the final poster size you have selected. The design/photograph will however be made smaller to accommodate the border.
Kindly note, some artworks have various styles of white borders (you will see this in their advertised imagery). If an artwork has a unique border style which you would like to be standard in width the entire way around your chosen design please leave a note at checkout.
We recommend that you do not add a white border if the frame you have at home already has a matt border insert.

Hanging your Art

Accepted Answer

All small format frames (A5, A4, A3 & 40x50cm) will come with a simple hanging kit, you'll need to hand screw this into the solid timber backing of your frame. 
All medium to large format framed artworks & luxe frames will come with instructions and hanging kit (which you will need to affix, a small hand-held screwdriver is perfect for this.) allowing you to hang your artwork in either portrait or landscape.
MDF sale frames come with pre-affixed black sawtooth tabs for hanging, do not attach a wire to these. Do not hang by the bracing wire that runs across the middle of your frame, this is not for hanging - it is to further brace your frames longer panels.
Please ensure you follow these instructions to ensure artwork is secure.
We advise you to consult with a builder or handy-man if you are unsure on how to hang artworks.
Outdoor Art & Decor is not responsible for any damages sustained to your artwork or home during or after installation.

Are the adhesive vinyls moisture resistant?

Yes, the majority of our adhesive vinyls are moisture resistant, but depending on the application you may need silicone for the edges. Of course, we do not recommend ranges such as leather, glitter, etc.

What is an 'Unframed art print'?

Accepted Answer

Professionally printed using all-pigment aqueous inks consisting of 5 blacks and 5 colours producing incredibly high-quality colour and premium black and white artworks. Printed on matte fine art stock, milled from 100% sustainable forests maintaining ISO14001 environmental management system certification.
Outdoor Art & Decor unframed art prints are non-reflective and are not glossy, and are also not made of canvas. They are commonly called a poster or print.
Unframed art prints from Outdoor Art & Decor have been professionally and artistically designed, we utilise the same image in our advertising and marketing as we do for printing to ensure a 100% accurate visual of what you are purchasing. With this in mind, whilst we can completely control the colour and design of our artworks - it may appear differently on your phone or computer screen due to your local device settings. We recommend turning up your brightness and turning off any colour-altering settings to give a more accurate representation of our artworks.
Selecting 'Unframed art print' means you will receive an Outdoor Art & Decor print/ poster that will have a soft matte finish per the above detailed specifications.
If you would like to receive your artwork framed, please ensure you select your required framing requirements.

Can you cover tile with adhesive vinyl?

Applying our adhesive coatings on tiling is entirely possible, you then decide whether you want to mark the joint or work the joint beforehand in order to have a flat surface.

Outdoor Art & Decor can print our artwork in almost any size you require! If you don't see the size you're after, just get in touch - or, have a look here at some of the popular custom poster sizes our customers request often.
Please note: Adding a white border does not change the final size of your print or poster, the sized artwork (poster) selected will remain that size.

Can adhesive coatings fit all shapes?

Most of the Cover Styl' references are not intended only for application on a flat surface, they can stretch up to 15% in order to adapt to many surfaces.

Can you install the adhesive coverings in a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the adhesive coatings are moisture resistant. You can apply them on shower, bathtub or bathroom furniture as long as the surface is clean before applying the vinyl. However, we advise you to apply silicone to edges in contact with water. Certain ranges are of course not recommended such as glitter, leather, etc.

Outdoor Art & Decor frames and posters do not come with matt border insert (cardboard type additional piece), please select the white border option on our product to obtain this look visually.
This does not change the overall dimensions of your poster size - it will simply add a white border to your chosen design, whilst maintaining the size print or poster you have selected. 
We recommend that you do not add a white border if the frame you have at home already has a matt border insert.

Question 31

Are the adhesive coverings repositionable?

Accepted Answer

Regarding Cover Styl’=' coatings, it depends on the surface. They can be repositioned if the surface is smooth/laminated. However, the more you reposition the vinyl, the less effective the glue will be. Finally, on some surfaces (e.g. paint), repositioning the film will damage the surface and the film will no longer be able to be bonded. So be careful and use the services of a professional if necessary.

The ideal application temperature for adhesive coatings is between 15 and 25 °C, so you can easily apply it in a house, hotel or office. Therefore, for example, avoid placing a very hot object such as a pan directly on the coating.

All small prints (A5 & A4 size) come protectively packaged in flat, strong mailers. Please take care on opening the packaging so as not to damage your fragile unframed artwork.
All posters come packaged in Outdoor Art & Decors custom made industrial strength mailing tube, with the prints safely wrapped inside to avoid damages.
Note: Small prints may be dispatched separately from posters, in a flat rigid envelope to avoid damaging their delicate nature.

Are the adhesive films subject to scratching?

It depends on the coating. In fact, structured adhesive vinyls like the Wood range have few problems with scratches, unlike “smooth” vinyls like the Solid Colour range, for example. Our "Soft Touch" series is treated with a silicone that makes it even more robust with regard to scratches.

Can you safely remove an adhesive coating?

It is entirely possible to remove a Cover Styl’ film without risk if it is applied to a laminated surface. However, if it is applied to wallpaper or paint for example, your original surface will be damaged.

Installation

Instructions are included with all Peel & Stick wallpaper orders.
 
Wallpaper is supplied untrimmed with 1cm to .5mm bleed (white edge) on the right side for overlap installation. You can trim this off if confident in doing so, alternatively you can leave it - this won't show if your walls are white.
 
We strongly recommend you apply the wallpaper on a flat, clean, white painted, non-porous, dry surface. If you install on a beige or coloured surface, it will change the colour of the wallpaper and you will visibly see the overlap.
 
For best results use a decorators primer under white paint and ensure paint has had at least four weeks to fully cure before installing wallpaper.

Can you apply an adhesive covering outside and on the floor?

You can install an adhesive covering outdoors or on the floor but we do not recommend it. Furthermore addition, the warranty does not apply if an adhesive film is applied on the floor or outdoors.

Cover Styl' is made of PVC vinyl with an acrylic-based glue on the back protected by silicone-coated paper and a printed outer layer. You can consult the technical data sheets for the products on our website or contact us for more information.

Removal

Easy to remove in one piece with no adhesive residue. We advise you using a sample in a small hidden area of your home to test results.
Disclaimer: Whilst all testing of Peel & Stick repositionable wallpaper has shown positive feedback and undergone years of testing via this US patented product, it is important to know that we can not guarantee that under any and all circumstance the material will stay completely in-tact  and that no adhesive will remain on the surface when removed or that your surface will not adhere to it. The number of painted coats on your wall, age and type of paint used, direct, undulation, dryness or dampness of your intended surface, no PVA primers used, heat from the sun may have effects when removing from the surface.

What is the difference between a green, red and blue reference?"

Green references are in stock with a minimum order of 2ML for installers/certified personnel. The red references are available within 1-4 weeks with a minimum order of 10ML and in multiples of 10ML. As for blue references, this is a mix between references intended to be discontinued and those for which the manufacturer forces us to place a minimum order.
